When a bag sells out as soon as it’s been released, you know it’s something to shout about. Perhaps it’s something to do with the fact that Angelina Jolie was one of the first people spotted out and about sporting the Capucines, but the French luxury brand really pulled it out the (ahem) bag with this one.
So what’s so special about it? Well, for starters, the bags are crafted out of full-grain Taurillon calf leather, the same leather used by one the most iconic fashion houses for their exclusive bags…Hermes! Secondly, Michelle Williams front the ad campaigns and, well, have you seen Michelle Williams? And lastly, the actual name of the name – “Capucines” – is the holy grail of names in the Vuitton world, because in 1854, Louis Vuitton first opened his boutique in Rue des Capucines in Paris. So the name is actually taken from the street itself.
What else we love? The two way design, of course! The bag has a very classic design, with a single flap that’s accented with a ‘flower button’, a subtle homage to one of the brand’s signature monograms. But the flap can also be hidden inside the bag, in which case you can show off the LV initials embossed on the leather.
