Bag Thursday: Winter Whites

Taylor-Swift-Dolce-Gabbana-Agata-Bag-Karlie-Kloss-Dolce-Gabbana-Sicily-BagOriginating from the Spring/Summer 2010 collection, you may be mistaken thinking this bag is new to the scene, thanks to its many reworks in an medley of fabrics, sizes and prints, but alas, we first saw this bag strut down the runway somewhat six years ago.

Models carried the Miss Sicily along side silk fringing on black lace dresses, classic extremes of masculine and feminine, with an Oscar-worthy FROW of guests including Scarlett Johansson, J-Lo, Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes and Claudia Schiffer. Needless to say, this bag had all the makings to ensure its iconic status.

image009The bag, aptly named Miss Sicily, is inspired by the style of Sicilian women (although rumour has it the Italian fashion house are looking to simplify the name), and embodies the essence of the brand’s latest collection.

It comes with a detachable shoulder strap, making it a versatile choice for the urban fashionista, whilst the linear shape and traditional materials – such as lace and macramé – are reminiscent of hand-crafted bags of the 1950’s, drawing on the Italian heritage of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
