Indian-born, South African-raised and Dubai-based Farhana Bodi is the brains behind the aptly named fashion, beauty, travel and lifestyle blog The Women of the World. As a woman of the world herself, if you’re one of Farhana’s 85k followers on Instagram, you’ll know she can be found jetting off to Switzerland on a Tuesday, before heading back to Dubai for a Dolce & Gabbana event on Wednesday, only to jet off to London, or somewhere equally as glamorous, on the Thursday. Jealous? Us? No way!
Starting her career as a make-up artist and model, our Style Icon of the Month has worked for brands like Estee Lauder, Mac and Bobbi Brown, before making such a name for herself in the industry, her blog became her full time job. Farhana’s presence on the fashion and beauty scene in Dubai is so prevalent, you’d find it almost hard to believe she’s also juggling a 7-month old baby at home!
“I am all about female empowerment”, says Farhana as we sip fresh orange juice in our Burj Khalifa view room at the Shangri-La Hotel, prepping for the shooting ahead. “The Women of the World aims to inspire and attract women from all walks of life.
