Chanel has dominated the fashion world ever since the debut of the brand back in the early 20th century. Coveted by the most elite, Chanel clothing has always been at the top of our closet’s brand acceptance list. When we received the “Billion Dollar Babes”cocktail dress from the Resort 2012 Collection designed by  Karl Lagerfeld, we knew it deserved special attention.

Delicate hand sewn rectangle shaped crystals are formed along the neckline, sleeves, bodice and mid hem of the dress to add a gorgeous sparkle to the ensemble. Additionally, miniature crystals have then been embroidered on the dress in the forms of shooting stars, contrasting the midnight bluish black hue of the outfit. This haute couture outfit clearly fit the bill to Lagerfeld’s chosen title of ‘billion dollar’ collection.

The runway was booked at Hotel du Cap on the French Riveria, known as the most expensive hotel in the world (not to mention he flew in a cast of top models and glamorous front row seaters from all over the world). The looks were accessorized with real jewels, diamonds and pearls, and the above mentioned cocktail number worn by Danielle Zinaich was one of the most delicately embellished dresses on the runway.
