Letters to Santa: The Bag Wishlist

We are now less than 2 weeks away from my favorite holiday! Yes, it’s that season again where every adult relives their childhood memory. I remember as a little girl my mother always told me Santa is watching if you’re naughty or nice and, having been nice all year, now it’s time for my wishlist!

Dear Santa,

It’s been awhile, I trust the cookies in the stockings were as per your liking, so can I please have these for Christmas? My wishlist starts with…

This Alexander McQueen Multicolor Union Jack Diamanté Clutch makes the perfect arm candy, I would really love to add this exquisite piece to my collection. It is beautifully crafted with the glorious union jack flag which is a compilation of the three individual flags of the countries that make up the United Kingdom. The clutch has a skull clasp that is symbolic to the McQueen Fashion house. It has the perfect blend of style and attitude, and can be worn with a simple dress or jeans and a tee, perfect for all my night outs!

Its been spotted in the hands of celebrities such as the fabulous Christina Aguilera and Dita Von Teese. I certainly cannot say no to this one!

Second on my list, I would have to say is this Mulberry Green Panel Alexa Leather Satchel. Although it has the similarities of the Proenza Schoule Shoulder bag, I would have to cast my vote on this little bag. It’s a crossover between a satchel, a briefcase, and a carry-on. The best part about this bag is that I can wear it in many different ways: with the top handle, on the shoulder, and even as a cross-body bag when I’m travelling.

The Alexa was inspired by British model and fashion icon Alexa Chung. She was spotted by Emma, the creative director of Mulberry, sporting the Elkington men’s briefcase. This gave her a thought: why not have a bag that’s multipurpose! And, as they say, the rest is history.

Being spotted on the arms of no other than Alexa Chung and the beautiful Nina Dobrev only makes this bag more of a must-have!

Third on my list is the infamous Saint Laurent Sac De Jour Tote. So let’s address the elephant in the room, yes, it pretty much looks like the Birkin… what were Saint Laurent thinking?! Now, having said that, I gotta say I love it! It is what I would like to call the Saint Laurent adaptation of the inspirational Birkin.

This bag is anything but cheap and is a nice alternative to a Birkin that would cost a mini fortune. I like the structure and it makes a perfect work tote, as well as a good travel bag to carry all of your “to-go essentials.” The Sac De Jour is one of the few bags that were launched by Hedi Slimane, Saint Laurent’s Creative Director, and has proved to be one of the best sellers since the brand shifted from YSL to Saint Laurent.

Fashion icon Kate Moss has been seen carrying this bag along with the endlessly classy Reese Witherspoon. This bag a Hollywood A-list obsession!

And last but not the least on my list… the one and only Hermes Taurillon Clemence Geranium Birkin. Since we were talking about Birkins, how can I skip out on this beauty? There are bags you buy to use as bags, and then there are bags you buy for the craftsmanship and admiration as a work of art. This is the ultimate style statement and the only way to get one of these iconic bags are if you are on a long waiting list.

It was inspired by the 80’s model Jane Birkin. Legend has it that Jane was traveling from London to Paris where she was coincidentally seated near Jean-Louis Dumas, CEO of Hermes. They got talking and she explained how it was so difficult for her to find a bag that was the perfect size and shape for a weekend travel. Well, one thing led to another… and that’s how the Birkin was born!

Well, since it’s a classic, it’s only natural that this bag has been seen on Victoria Beckham, Beyonce, and the majority of our favorite celebrities.
