Status Update: The New SS15 Watches From Versace and Salvatore Ferragmo

Last week, we were treated to a special preview of the brand new 2015 watches from Versace and Salvatore Ferragamo. We mingled above the clouds and over looked the ocean at Bice Sky Bar whilst indulging in 15 new timepieces.

We mulled over Versace’s latest creations, from the Khai in all its rose gold glory and V-Helix, which boasts leather calf straps in an array of colours, to the V-Metal Icon’s two tone case and dial, and V-Signature’s pavé diamond dial.

But what we really can’t wait to get our hands on, is the Versace Dylos Automatic Limited Edition watch. Most recently seen on the wrist of pop queen Madonna, there have been only 500 watches of this style produced. Driven by an automatic movement, you may have noticed a difference in the dial, when compared to your own watch. It stands out for the special hours and minutes display on rotating discs.

“The dial is, for the most part, covered by a guilloché sunray IP gold structure which converges on the Medusa head in 3D. The perimeter is decorated by the gourmette chain, while the Greek key is prominent on the bezel.” In non-watch speak, that means the hours and minutes are inverted, and the watch ticks backwards…*jaw drop*. Easily one of the most incredible timepieces we’ve laid eyes on, you can pick up this piece of arm candy in two colours, gold with a black dial, or two tone with a white dial.
Ferragamo’s new collection boasted seven launches for 2015. For the sunnier months, we are going to wearing Varina, the new timepiece for women, which come in seasonal colourways of Peach, fuchsia, champagne, indaco and tan, or the Intreccio, who’s modern appearance is further enhanced by the use of cylindrical fixtures for the strap rather than conventional lugs and also comes in super summery colours of violet, black, ruby red and turquoise.

If you’re looking for a more classic approach, try Pair Watch, its two-tone metal feature gives a nod to the stylish gents of the world, and it’s available in two different sizes, 40 and 33 mm in diameter – one for him and her! Or if you’re a sportsman who’s just looking for the perfect mix of stylish practicality, opt for the Ferragamo Sport, which can withstand up to 20 atmospheres of water pressure, with a matt finish to give it a seriously sleek and polished look.
