We welcome the latest addition to our luxe family – Jean Paul Gaultier for men!
Jean Paul Gaultier is a French designer, best known for his eponymous fashion label and his seven-year tenure as head designer at Hermès. When he was 18-years old, Jean Paul joined Pierre Cardin. With no previous experience in design, he stint at Cardin taught him all his top tricks, which lead him to fail his school exams.
He debuted his first collection in 1976, but did not properly establish his own design house until 1982 with the backing of Japanese brand Kashiyama. In 1990 he designed the iconic conical bras and basques for Madonna’s Blond Ambition tour, which gained him international recognition. In 2003, Gaultier succeeded Martin Margiela as the head designer at Hermès.
He ended his tenure at Hermès, with the Spring/Summer 2011 collection being his last. Gaultier then went on to launch a swimwear collection with La Perla in 2011 and become Diet Coke’s new creative director in March 2012.
