The Designer
Born to a family that owned shoe factories, Alexandre Birman grew up with a passion for designing footwear. He created his first shoe at the age of 12 and founded his own label, Schutz, in the year 1995 when he was 19. His namesake brand was launched in 2008 with a focus on handcrafted shoes that were exclusive and timeless. Birman’s intricate, graceful designs are a hit with the Hollywood elite, having been seen on personalities like Blake Lively, Reese Witherspoon, Lupita Nyong’o and Meryl Streep.
